Chic Contracting LTD. is spearheaded by the experience of CEO and Master Craftsman Terry Chic. Terry has been in the industry for over forty years and brings his passion for uniquely designed spaces to every project he’s involved in. Not limited to the Vancouver area his love of Carpentry has taken him to Hawaii as well as Spain and remains a constant at Chic Contracting, inspiring all that work underneath his direction.
Freybe Residence
Of Arthur Erickson design, located on a corner lot off South Oak, Vancouver BC. Nick Milkovich Architects involved Chic Contracting to update all exterior woodwork and glazing including two skylights spanning the length of the house. With new glazing, cedar fascia boards, custom stainless steel gutters, two cedar decks, fir columns, and a cedar bridge spanning the koi pond to the homes front entrance, the restoration was complete.
Chura Crescendo Hair Salon
Japanese inspired and designed by Arata Hatanaka. In partnership with ADA Design, Chic Contracting was hired to complete the interior construction of the commercial Real-Estate space that is Chura Crescendo Hair Salon. On-site custom built fir mill-work is featured throughout the Salon, as well as a fir feature wall and complimentary accents throughout the space. The exposed concrete floors and an open ceiling concept kept the building costs down on this East meets West Coast masterpiece.
Staples/ Liao Residence
The Staples family commissioned the firm of Arthur Massy Architects to design their dream home in the 1960s. A young architect, Bruno Freschi (chief architect Expo 86), of the Arthur Massy firm, was given the design opportunity and the project was completed in 1967. In 2014, with a new owner, Freschi got the opportunity to revisit his West Coast modernist classic. In partnership with Bruno Freschi and Nick Milkovich, Chic Contracting was hired to complete the interior/ exterior heritage restoration nestled within the treed cliff side overlooking Howe Sound.
